Hardly seems a year since I was writing a review of 2015 Xmas events, how quickly time passes.
The first event of 2016 was our traditional Whitby fish and chip run. Always popular and a perfect start to our calendar. This was followed by a run in March to Farndale to see the lesser spotted daffodils. Aprils run, organised by Reg and Babs, was to The White Horse Inn at Ampleforth where we had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Preston Park Vintage Fire Engine Rally was in May and we managed to have a club stand, although it was evident that we could do with updating our flags and hopefully we ll do that this year. June was a fabulous BBQ at Flaxton Farm. John B planned a scenic route and the weather was exceptional. July was our flagship Tees Valley Trail. This was a lovely run kindly organised by Reg and Babs and a good amount raised for Teesside Hospice. We also managed a run to Eggleston Gardens, the route planned by Pam and Owen and lead by Ian and Jackie. Swainby show was August and we all managed to squeeze under the gazebo out of the drizzle. Another Sunday lunch run in October to the Jolly Sailors takes us into our Xmas events. This started with lunch at The Village Inn in Brompton, followed by Xmas club night and rounded off by our Dinner Dance.
All events have been well attended and supported. We have also had various games and talks at club nights and they also have been well supported. We have had new members join us this year and they come back for more so we must be doing something right! Of course the big news this year is the change in venue from February. Hopefully this will be a positive move and safeguards our venue.
As usual, if anyone has any suggestions for runs etc. please speak to a committee member. It only remains for me to with everyone a happy new year.
Mandy
Enjoyed by all.
Health and Happiness wishes for all in 2017
