Preston Park Vintage Fire Engine Rally 2016
This was our first club static event of the year. We were allotted space for up to 8 cars plus a gazebo. We met up at the nearest Premier Inn car park and managed to arrive at the park in convoy. The gentlemen among us got to work putting up the gazebo and I’m happy to report that the latest welding repair held fast. Chairs, tables and coffee swiftly followed.
This is a very busy, family event and there is lots to do and see for all ages. There were lots of craft and charity stalls, vintage buses as well as the fire engines and cars. There were a number of bigger events in the show arena including monster trucks and quad bike demonstrations. We were very fortunate with the weather. It was sunny the majority of the time and we only had a slight drizzle later in the afternoon.
The organisers are keen to get local car clubs involved so I certainly thinks it’s worth considering attending again next year.
